To whom is the PGWP open?

In order to qualify for a PGWP, international students need to:

be at least eighteen years old.

have finished a full-time, eight-month program of study in Canada

It would have been best to follow the study program at a Designated Learning Institute (DLI).

Within 180 days of the study program's end, submit an application for the PGWP.

Additionally, take note of

The applicant must have a valid status at the time of application if they are applying from within Canada.

Before submitting the PGWP application, the applicant may apply for a guest visa if their study permit has expired or is about to expire.

However, PGWP applications submitted prior to the applicant's study permit expiration allow the candidate to begin employment.
